Wochenende ist immer Stickzeit, und bei diesem Wetter sind wir fast nur zu Hause geblieben. Zuerst möchte ich Euch das fertige "Crows" zeigen:

Wow, die einzige, die richtig geraten hat, ist Lois! :o) Ja, es ist das Freebie von The Prairie Schooler. Gestern abend bin ich auch schon fertig geworden - dank dem Dschungelcamp... Ja, ich muss gestehen, diese Sendung sehe ich gern... :o)

Wow, the only correct answer is by Lois! :o) Yes, it is the freebie by The Prairie Schooler - "S is for Spring". And I finished it already yesterday - thanks to the "jungle camp" (the German version of "I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!")... Yes, I must confess, I like watching this programme... :o)

Ich hatte seit Jahren eine diese Stickpackung in einer meiner Schachteln liegen, die ich nun gefunden und herausgeholt hatte - es war alles Notwendige schon dabei: Stoff, Garn und Vorlage... Deshalb auch die etwas abweichenden Farben von denen auf anderen Fotos mit dem gleichen Motiv.

Since many years I had a kit of it in one of my boxes, which I now found and took out - everything needed was already in there: fabric, yarn and the pattern... That's why the colours are a bit different from the ones in other photos with the same motif.

Die Nähmaschine ist heute mal wieder zum Einsatz gekommen; ich habe einige Dinge fertiggestellt:

Dies habe ich in 2007 gestickt; es war lange Zeit in einem Rahmen; nun habe ich daraus einen Hänger gemacht:

Und diese beiden kleinen Motive habe ich 2010 gestickt - und nun in Tuck Pillows (diese hier habe ich von Karen erworben) gesteckt (dies sind bereits vorgefertigte Hänger, in die man das gestickte Motiv einlegt):

Nach dem nachweihnachtlichen Tief geht es mit dem Sticken jetzt wieder etwas aufwärts bei mir; beim Durchsehen meiner Vorlagen habe ich eine gefunden, in der ein Stück Stoff lag, das ich schon angefangen hatte zu besticken! :o) Hier ist es:

Schneemann und Begonnenes / Snowman and some things started

Nachdem ich nun einige Tage ohne Sticken verbracht habe, hat es mich wieder an die Nadeln zurückgebracht. Auf dem Blog von Tanya habe ich einen kleinen Schneemann gefunden und ihn auch gestern gleich gestickt:

After having spent some days without stitching, I finally returned to my needles. On the blog of Tanya I found this little snowman and stitched him up yesterday:

Da die Vorlage ohne Farben ist (was eigentlich schade ist), habe ich mir auf einer DMC-Farbliste die Farben herausgesucht und losgestickt. So habe ich auch erst beim Sticken des Hutes gemerkt, dass es sich hierbei um die amerikanische Fahne handelt... Hätte ich vielleicht dann abgeändert - vielleicht in die deutsche? ;o) Vielleicht sticke ich ihn nochmals mit "deutschem" Hut... :o) Jedenfalls habe ich mich auch noch verstickt, ist kaum zu sehen, aber trotzdem... :o/ Ich werde ihn aber so lassen, wie er ist.

Because the chart is without colours (what is a pity to my mind), I searched for the colours on a DMC colour list and started stitching. And so I only noticed while stitching the hat that the colours form the American flag... Perhaps I changed it then - maybe into the German one? ;o) It is possible that I will stitch him again with a "German" hat... :o) Anyhow, I made a little mistake while stitching, it is hard to see, but nevertheless... :o/ But I will leave him as he is.

Auch habe ich etwas an meinem Primitive Advent Calendar von The Primitive Hare gestickt - nach Weihnachten ist ja bekanntlich vor Weihnachten... :o) Ich "liebe" diese Backstitches! (nicht wirklich...)

I also stitched a bit more on my Primitive Advent Calendar by The Primitive Hare - after Christmas is as it is generally known before Christmas... :o) I "love" backstitches! (not really...)

Und könnt Ihr Euch noch daran erinnern, dass ich eine Inga Palmgren-Stickpackung erstanden hatte? Auch dieses habe ich angefangen:

It's a Wonderful Life!

Als Kind hatte ich einmal den Film "Ist das Leben nicht schön?" (engl.: "It's a wonderful life") mit Jimmy Stewart gesehen und war sehr davon beeindruckt; im Laufe der Jahre habe ich irgendwie immer mal wieder an diesen Film gedacht und auch daran, ihn mal wieder anzusehen. Aber das deutsche Fernsehprogramm gab dies nie her (oder ich habe ihn immer verpasst...)...

As a child, I once saw the movie "It's a wonderful life" with Jimmy Stewart and I was very impressed by it; during the following years I sometimes remembered the movie and wanted to see it again. But the German TV programme never showed it again (or I always missed it...)...

Dann las ich auf dem Blog von The Sampler Girl, dass sie diesen Film jedes Jahr zu Weihnachten anschaut, sie hat sogar mindestens zwei Vorlagen zu diesem Film entworfen.

Then I read on the blog of The Sampler Girl that she watches this movie every year during the Christmas time, she even designed at least 2 patterns as a tribute to this movie.

Eines ihrer Designs habe ich gestern abend fertig gestickt:

Das Motiv enthält alles, was ich mag und gern sticke: ein Haus, Bäume und einen positiven Spruch! ;o) Und den Film gibt es ja auch auf DVD! ;o)

Wichtel-Zeit! / Exchange time!

Gestern war wieder so ein Tag, an dem man nach des Tages Arbeit nach Hause kommt (ja, mein LM, ich weiß... ;o) ) und schöne Überraschungen in der Post findet:

Ich habe schon so viele Hänger - und es wäre auch zu groß dafür -, deshalb werde ich es rahmen und bei mir zu Hause aufhängen... :o)) Vielleicht schaffe ich es noch vor Weihnachten!

Winternacht / Winter's Night

Ich hatte gestern von zwei lieben Stickfreundinnen kleine Überraschungen in der Post:

Dann ist gestern eines meiner geheimen Wichtel bei der Empfängerin eingetroffen - es war eine Aktion im Kreuzstichclub. Man sollte ein von der Wichtelpartnerin gewünschtes Motiv sticken, das jedoch noch nicht endverarbeitet wurde, so dass sich die Empfängerin selbst etwas daraus machen kann. Zusätzlich zum gestickten Bild (Windmühle in Blau) habe ich ihr noch einen kleinen Wichtel mitgeschickt:

Then, one of my secret exchanges reached the addressee yesterday - it was an exchange of the cross stitch club. One had to stitch a motive that the partner would like to have, but which was not finished as something so that the addressee can finish it as she likes. Inspiriert wurde ich hierzu durch eine kleine Keramikfigur, die ich besitze... :o)

The inspiration for this was a little ceramic figure that I own... :o)

Ich selbst habe ihn natürlich auch gestickt - aber lasst Euch dies gesagt sein: wählt Euren Stoff gut aus, nehmt einen dunklen, keinen hellen, so wie ich... Dann habe ich ein zu dunkles Rot genommen; und der Bart ist nun nicht weiß, sondern grau (weil der Bart in weiß sonst auf diesem Stoff nicht so gut zu sehen gewesen wäre)... Ich denke, ich werde ihn noch einmal sticken, dann aber auf einem dunkleren Stoff... :o) Aber seht selbst:

I myself stitched the Santa, too, of course - but I would like to tell you this: choose your fabric well, take a darker one, not a clear one as I did... Then I chose a red that was too dark; and the beard is not white, but grey (because a white beard wouldn't be so good visible on this fabric)... I think I will stitch him again, but then I use a darker fabric... :o) But see for yourself:

Am vergangenen Wochenende habe ich es geschafft, von den fünf gestickten Motiven vier als Ornamente fertigzustellen:

Naja, die Art der Ornamente ist immer gleich, aber ich war gerade so schön dabei... :o)

Oh well, the style of the ornaments is always the same, but I have been just finishing them... One ornament at a time... :o)

Dann habe ich dieses hier noch Sonntag abend angefangen - ich LIEBE dieses Blau! Das Motiv ist aus der JCS November/Dezember 2011...:

Then I started this here on Sunday evening - I LOVE this blue! The motive is from the JCS November/December issue 2011...:

Das Motiv ist so einfach zu sticken, nur eine Farbe, und was mache ich? Ich muss mich unbedingt versticken... Und so konnte ich gestern abend wieder auftrennen und neu sticken... Eine halbe Stunde wertvolle Stickzeit vergeudet! ;o)

The motive is so easy to stitch, only one colour, and what did I do? I made a (stitching) mistake... And so, yesterday evening, I could frog some parts and stitch anew... I wasted half an hour of precious stitching time! ;o)

Da das Motiv recht groß wird, werde ich daraus wohl ein Kissen machen... :o)

Because the motive will be quite big, I certainly will turn it into a pillow... :o)

Einiges zu tun... / Some things to do...

Eines meiner gegenwärtigen kleinen geheimen Projekte habe ich nun verarbeitet, und an dem zweiten arbeite ich derzeit - ich habe auch schon eine ganze Menge davon geschafft... :o) Aber da mir das zu einseitig ist (kann man auch langweilig nennen ;o) ), und ich außerdem etwas Panik wegen meiner anderen Vor-Weihnachts-Stickpläne bekomme, habe ich diese beiden Dinge hier angefangen:

One of my two current little secret projects is finished now, at the second one I am working at the moment - and I worked quite a lot on it... :o) But because this is too one-sided for me (you can call it boring as well ;o) ) and because I have a slight feeling of panic in connection with my projects that I would like to have finished before Christmas, I started these here:

Dieses kleine TPS-Ornament wird für meine Mutter sein, die Anfang Dezember Geburtstag hat... :o)

This little TPS ornament will be for my mother whose birthday is at the beginning of December... :o)

Ich habe auch schon eine Idee, wie ich die einzelnen Hänger dann aufhänge: in einem Dekoladen bei uns gibt es derzeit viele Adventskalender, auch einen aus Draht, den ich mir geholt habe; ich zeige ihn Euch, wenn ich einige Hänger fertig habe (oder vielleicht auch schon früher...).

I already have an idea how to display the single hangers: in a decoration shop nearby they sell a lot of advent calendars, also a calendar made of wire, which I bought; I will show it here, when I stitched up some hangers (or perhaps a bit earlier...).

Ich wünschte, ich hätte mehr Zeit zu sticken... ;o)

Weihnachtsmann-Stiefel fertig / Santa stocking finished

Ich habe mich diesmal schwer damit getan, den Stiefel fertigzustellen, aber kurzentschlossen habe ich heute nachmittag die Nähmaschine herausgeholt und habe begonnen... Für die Innenseite habe ich einen roten Stoff genommen. Der dicke Jutestoff hat mich sogar eine Nähmaschinen-Nadel gekostet... Aber Gott sei Dank erst am Ende! :o)

This time, I found it hard to finish the stocking, but spontaneously, I got the sewing machine out of the wardrobe this afternoon and started... I used a red fabric for the inner side. The thick jute fabric even cost me a needle of my sewing machine... But thank goodness only during the last stitch! :o)

Die Länge des Stiefel is ca. 50 cm (ich dachte erst, die Länge wäre 55 - 60 cm, aber ich habe nochmals nach Fertigstellung nachgemessen...).

The length of the stocking is appr. 50 cm (first, I thought it 55 - 60 cm long, but I measured it again after finishing...).

Außerdem habe ich noch an einem geheimen Projekt gearbeitet, das aber erst gezeigt werden kann, wenn es beim Empfänger angekommen ist (ca. Ende November)... :o)

Furthermore, I stitched on a secret project, that I only can show here after the addressee received it (appr. end of November)... :o)

Mein großer Junge und Katze in Kürbis / My big boy and cat in pumpkin

Mein "Groß"-Projekt / My "big" project

Nachdem nun Halloween schon wieder vorbei ist, geht es jetzt mit Riesenschritten aufs Weihnachtsfest zu! ;o) Das passt und ist eine gute Überleitung - "Riesenschritte"! Ich bin fast mit meinem Riesenstiefel fertig...:

Engel und Eule / Angel and owl

Ich weiß, ich weiß, ich sollte eigentlich an meinem "Riesen"-Stiefel weitersticken, aber irgendwie hat es mir der Engel von Sylvia angetan... :o) So habe ich ihn dazwischengeschoben und mir das Stickset von ihr gekauft, die Zeitschrift "Kreuzstichmotive" mit der Vorlage besorgt, und los ging's! Und das ist das Ergebnis:

I know, I know, I should have been stitching more on my "giant" stocking, but somehow I couldn't resist the angel by Sylvia... :o) So I squeezed the angel in and bought the stitch kit and the magazine "Cross stitch motifs" with the pattern and started! And this is the result:

Mithilfe des Sticksets war das Zusammensetzen des Pinkeeps auch sehr einfach - und es ist wirklich schon alles, was man braucht, dabei (was ich am meisten liebe)!!! :o))

With the stitch kit, the assembling of the pinkeep was very easy - and everything what one needs was included (this I love best)!!! :o))

Katze, Schneemann, Santa / Cat, snowman, Santa

Zuerst möchte ich meinen kleinen Anhänger zeigen, der schon einige Tage fertig ist und bereits an meiner Tasche - zusammen mit dem "Witch/Home"-Anhänger - baumelt:

Dann habe ich auch meinen Schneemann fertig, aber leider hat das dunkelgrüne Garn nicht gereicht :o( . So musste ich mit Schwarz weitermachen (was auch gerade so reichte...). Ich habe mich ein wenig darüber geärgert, aber trotzdem weitergemacht - vielleicht fällt ja der Farb-Unterschied im Dunkel der Weihnachtszeit nicht so auf... ;o)

Then I finished my snowman as well, but unfortunately, the darkgreen thread wasn't enough :o( . So I had to use black instead (which almost wasn't enough, too...). I was a bit annoyed about it, but I finished it nevertheless - perhaps the colour difference will not attract too much attention in the darkness of the Christmas time... ;o)

Als letztes möchte ich Euch den gegenwärtigen Stand meines nächsten Projektes zeigen - es ist eine Stickpackung von Permin; als ich die Teile auspackte, habe ich mich richtig über die Größe des Ganzen erschrocken (siehe Schere)...:

Es ist schon eine Weile her, dass ich einen Post über Scheren gebracht habe. Ich habe kürzlich wieder einige erstanden (2 antike und 2 neue):

Ein letztes gesticktes Halloween-Motiv muss ich hier noch zeigen - es ist "The Pumpkin Patch" von With Thy Needle and Thread:

Dann habe ich mich mal an einer anderen Nadelarbeit als Kreuzstich versucht - Punchneedle:

Dies war eine fertige Packung... Fragt nicht, wie die Rückseite aussieht, auch ist die Mütze etwas "dünn", aber ich bin soweit zufrieden - und vorerst werde ich diese Art Handarbeit nicht weiter ausprobieren... ;o)

This was a kit... Don't ask how the back side is looking like, and the hat is also a bit "thin", but I am quite satisfied so far - and for the present, I am determined to not further try this kind of needlework... ;o)

Nachdem dieser Santa fertig war, habe ich meine Stickpackungen mal durchgesehen und einige gefunden, die für Weihnachten gut geeignet sind. Ich habe mir für den Anfang diese Packung ausgesucht - von Heart in Hand hatte ich bereits vor einigen Jahren einmal einen Schneemann aus - glaube ich - derselben Reihe gestickt. Dies ist mein Stand:

Der bestellte Bilderrahmen für "All Hallows Eve" ist nun endlich eingetroffen: hier ist das gerahmte Bild:

Und um mal wieder etwas vom Halloween-Thema abzukommen, habe ich nun endlich den SAL von Sandrine begonnen. Ich muss etwas aufholen, es wurden bereits die ersten 6 Kästchen gestickt, zu sehen hier bei Sandrine: HIER. Jeden 1. und 16. eines Monats sollten 2 weitere Kästchen fertiggestickt sein (wenn ich es richtig verstanden habe...). Hier ist mein Stand - fast 3 Kästchen:

An unserem letzten Tag in England hatten wir weniger Glück mit dem Wetter; es regnete viel. Aber davon haben wir uns natürlich nicht abhalten lassen! ;o) Wir waren in Harewood House.

On our last day in England, we had a bit bad luck regarding the weather; it rained a lot. But this didn't prevent us from travelling! ;o) We have been to Harewood House.

Good Witch, Bad Witch

"Good Witch, Bad Witch" ist nun fertig gestickt; es hat etwas gedauert, bis ich dieses hier fertig hatte:

"Good Witch, Bad Witch" is finished now; it took me some time, until I finished this here:

Den Ständer habe ich selbst zusammengebaut: der Fuß ist ein Holzknauf, das lange Teil ist ein Essstäbchen. Letzteres habe ich in den Knauf geklebt, dann alles schwarz angemalt und lackiert. Als letztes habe ich noch die Kordel angebracht... Unten drunter habe ich Filz geklebt, damit das Ganze besser steht.

I assembled the stand by myself: the base is a wooden knob, the long part is a chopstick. The latter I glued into the hole of the knob, then I painted the whole in black and varnished it. Then I fixed the cord to the pole... Underneath the knob I placed a piece of felt for a better stand.

Auch mit "All Hallow's Eve" bin ich etwas weiter gekommen:

Wicket Night! - 2

Nachdem ich gestern den ganzen Abend vorm Fernseher gestickt habe und nachts noch eine Stunde Sticken eingelegt habe (wg. zu vieler Gedanken), sieht mein "Hottehüh" nun so aus:

After having stitched the whole evening yesterday and having stitched another hour at night (because of too many thoughts), my "horse" looks like this now:

Ich habe den Kürbiskopf in dunklem Orange gestickt - ich finde, so wirkt es noch dramatischer! ;o) Jetzt fehlt nur noch der Rest der "Nacht!" :o)

I stitched the pumpkin head in dark orange - I think it looks even more dramatic this way! ;o) Now, only the rest of the "Night" is missing! :o)

Nachdem wir am Vortag nicht weit fahren mussten, um uns etwas anzusehen, fuhren wir an unserem 8. Tag nach Chatsworth - gelegen in Derbyshire... Ungefähr 90 km entfernt. Die "Stolz und Vorurteil"-Fans wissen, welches Haus gemeint ist... :o)

After having a short journey to visit a site on the day before, on the 8th day of our stay we visited Chatsworth - situated in Derbyshire... Appr. 90 km away. The fans of "Pride and Prejudice" know which house is meant... :o)

Ich selbst war dort bereits vor 3 Jahren mit meiner Schwester gewesen und hatte tolle Fotos gemacht. Da ich ein großer Jane Austen-Fan bin und u. a. auch die Verfilmung von "Stolz und Vorurteil" mit Keira Knightley (mehrmals ;o) ) gesehen hatte, schlug ich meinen beiden vor, doch nach Chatsworth zu fahren:

3 years ago, I myself have been there already together with my sister and took wonderful photos. Because I am a great Jane Austen fan and because of the fact that I watched the film "Pride and Prejudice" with Keira Knightley (various times ;o) ), I suggested to my two dear ones to visit Chatsworth:

I am stitching on linen with Anchor 4101 (not with DMC 310 as stated)... It isn't quite so dark... :o)

Ein SAL, Halloween, eine Wichtelei... / A SAL, Halloween, an exchange...

Sandrine (ihr Blog) hat einen neuen SAL gestartet: SAL Sampler n°2 d'Anna Fields. Das Stickbild hat mir so gut gefallen, dass ich mir gleich das Buch bestellt habe (und es ist auch schon eingetroffen!) und mitsticken will... Darin sind 10 verschiedene Designs, eines schöner als das andere:

Sandrine (her blog) started a new SAL: SAL Sampler no. 2 d'Anna Fields. I fell in love with the design immediately, so I ordered the book (and it arrived already!) and am going to participate... In the book, there are 10 different designs, all so beautiful:

Begonnen habe ich noch nicht (das Buch ist erst vor 2 Tagen hier eingetroffen); ich muss auch noch nach einem passenden Stoff schauen - das Design ist ca. 200 x 200 Kreuze groß... :o) Gestickt wird alle 14 Tage 2 der Felder; Sandrine selbst hat schon die ersten beiden Felder gestickt...

I didn't started yet stitching it (the book arrived here 2 days ago); I have to look for a appropriate fabric - the design measures appr. 200 x 200... :o) Every two weeks there are to stitch 2 fields of the design; Sandrine stitched already the first two fields...

Außerdem ist gestern das Buch eingetroffen, auf das ich schon sooo lange warte: JCS Halloween Collection!!! :o))

Furthermore, yesterday arrived the book for that I have waited sooo long: JCS Halloween Collection!!! :o))

Ich habe bereits mit einem Design begonnen: es ist von Primitive Hare/Isabella und heißt "Wicked Night"! Fotos folgen! :o)

I already started with one design, it is by Primitive Hare/Isabella and is called "Wicked Night"! Pictures will follow! :o)

Und was ich noch nicht erzählt habe: ich bin dem Blog "Rotating Designer Exchange" beigetreten! Die erste Runde (abzuschicken bis 15. Oktober) ist ein Prairie Schooler-Design, das für den Exchange-Partner zu sticken ist. Ich bin gestern mit meinem fertig geworden, jetzt fehlt nur noch die Verarbeitung, dann geht es auf die Reise zu.... :o)! Bilder davon erst, wenn mein Partner es bekommen hat!

And this I didn't tell you yet: I joined the blog "Rotating Designer Exchange"! The first round (to be sent by 15th October at the latest) is a Prairie Schooler design which has to be stitch for the exchange partner. I completed mine yesterday, now I have to finished it into something, then I can send it to... :o)! Pictures of it only when my partner got it!

Hier wollte ich eigentlich einige DMC-Docken kaufen, aber es stellte sich heraus, dass hier kein DMC verkauft wird, sondern Madeira und Anchor... So haben der Verkäufer und ich dann meine DMC-Nummern aus einer Madeira-Umrechnungsliste herausgesucht, so dass ich dann Madeira-Garn hatte - immerhin hatte ich nun statt 8 m Garn 10 m Garn zur Verfügung... :o)

Originally, I wanted to buy some DMC skeins here, but it turned out that they do not sell DMC, but Madeira and Anchor... So the shop assistant and I looked the Madeira numbers up in a DMC-Madeira-list and I purchased the Madeira thread - at least I had now 10 mtrs. Madeira thread instead of 8 mtrs. DMC thread... :o)

Kleiner gestickter Rahmen-Anhänger / Little stitched frame charm

Vor einiger Zeit hatte ich mir einmal eine Stickpackung für einen kleinen Rahmen-Anhänger gekauft - den habe ich am Samstag in Angriff genommen und sonntags ist er fertig geworden:

Some time ago I purchased a cross stitch kit for a little frame charm - on Saturday I started stitching it and on Sunday it was finished:

Auf der Rückseite habe ich etwas anderes gestickt als in der Packung angegeben - es ist ja nicht mehr lang bis H........: ;o) Gestickt ist einfädig über einen Faden...

On the backside I stitched another motif than stated in the kit - H........ isn't far away: ;o) I stitched one over one...

An unserem fünften Tag sind war nach Middleham gefahren - dort sollte sich die Burg befinden, in der König Richard III seine Kindheit verbracht und auch so gern dort gewesen ist. Aber dass die Burg dann so ausgesehen hat, wie sie aussah, hätten wir auch nicht gedacht:

On our fifth day we have been to Middleham - there should be the castle in which King Richard III spent his childhood and loved to be. So we were a little bit surprised to find the Middleham Castle as it were:

In der kleinen Stadt selbst war auch nicht viel zu sehen...

In the little town itself wasn't much to see...

... so haben wir hier gegessen...

... so here we had lunch...

Auf unserem Heimweg konnten wir dann die schönen Yorshire-Dales bewundern - zumindest meine Familie, denn ich musste ja auf die Straße schauen... ;o)

On our way home we could admire the beautiful Yorkshire Dales - at least my family could, because I had to keep an eye on the road... ;o)
