Was lange währt,... / The wait is worth it...

Puuh, das Bildchen hat doch länger gedauert als ich dachte... Nun ist es aber gestern fertig geworden und ich bin's zufrieden... Es ist für den Sohn einer lieben Kollegin... :o) Ich werde wohl ein kleines Kissen daraus machen.

Phew, this little picture took more time than I thought... It was finished yesterday and I am satisfied... It is for the son of a dear colleague of mine... :o) Probably, I will turn it into a little cushion.

Etwas anderes / Something different

So, ich glaube, es ist jetzt vorerst genug mit Halloween und Hexen... ;o)

Well, I think, it is enough with Halloween and witches for the present... ;o)

In der letzten Woche habe ich einige Stick-Aufträge erhalten; außerdem hatte ich selbst noch ein Projekt zu erledigen: vor einigen Wochen war ich unschlüssig, was ich sticken könnte, und damals hatte ich u.a. an "The Power Shower Hour" gedacht...

During the last week, I received some orders for stitching; furthermore, I myself had a project to stitch: some weeks ago, I was undecisive what to stitch, and that time I thought, among other things, to stitch "The Power Shower Hour"...

Hier ist es nun, ich habe es am Wochenende fertiggestellt, hatte sogar noch einen passenden Rahmen:

Nun habe ich noch einige kleine Dinge für Kinder zu sticken... Die besagten Aufträge... Lasst Euch überraschen...! ;o)

Now I still have to stitch some small pieces for children... The aforesaid orders... Let's wait and see...! ;o)

Am Freitag bin ich mit meiner Halloween-Feier fertig geworden:

Nach einiger Suche und falsch gekauften Rahmen - die ich aber sicher für zukünftige Projekte brauchen werde - habe ich noch so einen Rahmen wie der, den ich für "Spooky Hollow" genommen habe, gefunden:

After searching a certain time and purchasing the wrong frames - which I surely will use for future projects - I found another frame of the kind I used for "Spooky Hollow":

Und ich bin sicher, in der Halloween-Zeit werden die beiden Hexchen zusammen sicher die richtige Atmosphäre verbreiten: ;o)

And I am sure that during the Halloween season both witches together will spread their part of Halloween Spirit: ;o)

Halloween Feier / Halloween Revelry

Ich war wieder etwas fleißig und habe meine "ausgelassene Feier" weitergestickt:

Könnt Ihr erraten, was es werden soll? Ich glaube Du, Sabine, kennst das doch irgendwoher? Ich werde eine "Kurzfassung" von dem Original sticken, ich lasse die Schrift unten weg und auch den finster dreinblickenden Kürbis, dem wohl der Gesang der (noch zu stickenden) Miezekatzen missfällt... ;o)

Can you guess what it will be in the end? I think, you, Sabine, know it very well, isn't it? I will stitch a "short version" of the original, I will leave out the letters below and also the grimly looking pumpkin, who obviously dislikes the singing of the (yet invisible) pussy cats... ;o)

Ich will heute noch weiteres Garn kaufen, damit ich so dicht wie möglich an den angegebenen Farben bleibe... Ich sticke mit Anchor - wie meine meisten Projekte -; Verlaufsgarn habe ich bei uns in der "Stickwüste" Berlin nicht gefunden, und DMC schon gar nicht...
I am going to buy some more threads to stay so closely as possible with the colours stated in the pattern... I am stitching with Anchor - as most of my projects -; I couldn't find overdyed threads here in the "stitching desert" Berlin, nor DMC...

Scherenständer / Rack for scissors

Ich wollte Euch mal was Tolles zeigen... Wir hatten schon seit einiger Zeit einige Stücke Holz auf dem Balkon "herumliegen" - und viele Wochen lang dachte ich, da müsste mein Mann doch mal einige Löcher reinbohren, damit ich einige meiner Scheren so aufbewahren kann... Und dann, vor einigen Wochen, hat es endlich geklappt. Tataaaa!

I wanted to show you something fantastic... There were some pieces of wood for some time on our balcony - and for many weeks I thought that my husband should make some holes in one of them with the drilling machine for me to store some of my scissors... And then, some weeks ago, it happened! Tataaaa!

Nun habe ich mir überlegt, dass ich das Ganze noch mit einem bestickten Leinenband versehen kann, so dass das Holz ringsherum "verkleidet" ist... Na, was meint Ihr dazu?

Mal sehen, wie lange ich brauche, um das in die Tat umzusetzen! ;o)

And now it is my plan to wrap the piece of wood with a embroidered linen band... All around. What do you think about it?

Let's see how long it will take to put this plan into action! ;o)

Hexe Nr. 3 ...! / Witch no. 3 ...!

So, mit den bisherigen Hexen nicht genug - nun habe ich mich an diese Hexe (wieder von With Thy Needle & Thread - es heißt "Broom Hilda") gewagt (kleines Motiv, geht relativ fix zu sticken, was mir ja besonders gefällt... ;o) ):

Well, the recent 2 witches were not enough - I am just stitching this witch (again by With Thy Needle and Thread - it is called "Broom Hilda") (small motive, relatively quick to stitch, that I especially love... ;o) ):

Ich sticke auf einem Leinenstickband; ich plane, daraus ein kleines Nadelheft zu machen - vielleicht ist ja noch Raum für eine Stickschere... :o) Denn ich kann ja nicht nur immer kleine Hänger oder gerahmte Bilder sticken... (ist aber soooo einfach!)

I am stitching it on a linen band; I am planning to make a little needle book - perhaps there will be room for embroidery scissors as well... :o) I cannot stitch always little doorknob hanger or framed picture... (but that is soooo easy!)

Schon wieder 'ne Hexe... / Again a witch...

Ich konnte es nicht lassen, ich musste diese Hexe sticken - sie ist wieder von With Thy Needle & Thread - und ich habe sie wieder verändert... ;o) Ich glaube, ich bin gerade in einer "Hexen-Phase"! :o)

I couldn't help it, I had to stitch this witch - she is - again - by With Thy Needle & Thread - and - again - I changed the pattern... ;o) I think that I am currently in a mood of stitching witches! :o

Spooky Hollow - 6 - and Finish !!!

Trotz der gegenwärtigen Hitze (heute werden es ca. 38°C - 40°C - auch unser Thermometer hat seinen Geist aufgegeben) habe ich gestern abend "Spooky Hollow" beendet - und heute früh auch schon gerahmt:

Despite the hot weather (today we are expecting appr. 38°C - 40°C - and our thermometer is broken as well and does not function anymore) I finished "Spooky Hollow" yesterday - and today in the morning I framed it:

Wer genau hinsieht, kann sehen, dass ich einen Schlüssel hinzugefügt habe - und auch der Schlüssel, auf dem die Eule sitzt, ist zu kurz geraten (diesen Fehler habe ich zu spät gesehen... :o/ ); deshalb habe ich dann rechts oben meine Initialen eingefügt... :o)

Who looks at the details the one can see that I added a key - and the key with the owl on it is too short (this mistake I noticed too late... :o/ ); that's why I added my initials in the right upper corner... :o)

Spooky Hollow - 5

OK, es geht voran - hier ist mein gegenwärtiger Stand:

Well, I am making progress - here is my current status:

Langsam nimmt "Spooky Hollow" seine gewollte Form an... Es fehlen jetzt nur noch: der Kürbis in der Hand, der Rahmen, Oct 31, die Eule, das Halsband der Katze und die Blüten an den Pflanzen links und rechts... Nimmt ja kein Ende - also doch noch 'ne ganze Menge zu sticken... ;o)

Slowly "Spooky Hollow" is taking the desired shape... There are still missing: the pumpkin in the hand, the frame, Oct 31, the owl, the collar of the cat and the flowers on the plants to the left and right... It seems to be endless - that means still a lot to do... ;o)

Fadenreste / Thread left-overs

Da ich im Moment kein Bild von einem Fortschritt meiner Hexe habe, wollte ich Euch mal meinen "ganzen Stolz" ;o) zeigen:

Ich weiß gar nicht, wie man diese Fadenreste in Stickerkreisen nennt... Angefangen zu sammeln habe ich, glaube ich, Anfang/Mitte 2009.

I really don't know how these thread left-overs are called in stitcher circles... I think I started collecting them at the beginning/in the middle of 2009.

Neueste Errungenschaften für den Balkon / Latest investments for the balcony

Am letzten Wochenende waren wir etwas mit dem Rad unterwegs - dabei sind wir auch an einer Gärtnerei vorbeigekommen. Und da mir schon seit langem einige blühende Pflanzen auf unserem Balkon fehlen, habe ich einige erste Pflanzen von dort mitgenommen:

Last weekend, we made a little trip with our bicycles - on our way we passed a market garden. And because I wanted - already for a long time - some blooming plants on my balcony, I took some first plants home:
