Ginny Update

Da morgen Kindertag ist, habe ich am Wochenende "Ginny" zu einem kleinen Kissen weiterverarbeitet...

Because tomorrow is Children's Day, I finished "Ginny" into a little pillow last weekend...

... so dass sie jetzt darauf wartet, meiner Tochter geschenkt zu werden...! ;o)
... so that she is now waiting for being given to my daughter as a present...! ;o)

Hier ist mein weiterer Fortschritt - mit dem Haus bin ich bis jetzt zufrieden, aber das Gras... Aber ich werde es erst einmal so lassen, denn, wie gesagt, frogging.... Neeeeee..... ;o)

Here is my further progress - I am quite satisfied with the house, but the grass... But I will leave it that for a while, because, as I already said, frogging.... noooooo.... ;o)

Gestern abend konnte ich noch etwas an meinem neuen kleinen Projekt (Designerin ist Nancy von Liberty Primitives & Needlework) weitersticken - und da hab ich mich doch prompt verstickt...! Grrrr... Ganz links am Haus habe ich jetzt eine weitere Reihe "Steine" gestickt, so dass es mit der Kante des Rasens unten zusammenpasst... Ich wollte doch nicht froggen....! =:oo Naja, nobody is perfect... :o/

Yesterday in the evening, I could work a little bit more on my new little project (the designer is Nancy of Liberty Primitives & Needlework) - and indeed, I made a stitching mistake...! Grrr... I had to stitch another row of "stones" on the left where the house is so that it it goes together with the edge of the grass below... I didn't want to frog...! =:oo So, nobody is perfect... :o/

Wird sicher kaum auffallen...
Surely, it will not attract much attention...

Unschlüssig / Undecisive

Seit gestern und auch heute noch ein wenig bin ich unschlüssig, was ich als nächstes sticken soll... Ich habe hin- und her überlegt, was das nächste Projekt sein könnte: ich würde gern "Halloween Revelry" von The Primitive Needle sticken (hat Sabine kürzlich gestickt - hier), oder "I hate frogs" von Kissy, oder ein schon bereits gesticktes Bild, das meiner Schwester so gut gefallen hat, dass ich es für sie nochmals sticken soll...:

Since yesterday and also today I am a little bit indecisive what to stitch next... I thought and thought and thought what the next project could be: I would like to stitch "Halloween Revelry" by The Primitive Needle (Sabine stitched it recently - here), or "I hate frogs" by Kissy, or a already stitched picture that my sister liked so much that she asked me to stitch it for her as well...:

Es hängt schon sein einiger Zeit bei uns im Bad - es gibt keinen passenderen Ort dafür! ;o)

It hangs in our bathroon for some time already - there is no better place for it! ;o)

Ich könnte natürlich auch meine WIPs weitersticken - eine Fortsetzung könnten sie gebrauchen... ;o) Ich glaube, ich brauche eine kleine Pause vom Sticken (die sicher nicht sehr lang sein wird... ;o) )

I could of course continue to stitch my WIPs - a continuation would be good... ;o) I think I need a little break from stitching (which will certainly not very long... ;o) )

Zwischendurch - Ginny / In the meantime - Ginny

Da ja bald Kindertag ist (1. Juni), musste ich ein "Kindertags"-Projekt in Angriff nehmen - meine Tochter ist ein großer Harry Potter-Fan und ich habe kürzlich auf dieser Seite einige süße Vorlagen für einige HP-Charaktere gefunden:

Da ich weiß, dass ihr Ginny Weasley am besten von allen Charakteren gefällt, habe ich für sie also Ginny gestickt:

Ich habe Samstag angefangen; eben bin ich fertig geworden... Nun muss ich nur noch die Nähmaschine herausholen, um daraus ein kleines Kissen zu nähen... :o)
I started Saturday; and I finished it just this moment... Now the only thing I have to do is to get my sewing machine out of the wardrobe and make it into a little cushion... :o)

Noch ein Nachtrag zu "Live Simply" und "Live Humbly": Beide Bilder hängen bei mir nun im Flur - links und rechts neben dem Spiegel... ;o)

And an additional postscript regarding "Live Simply" and "Live Humbly": Both pictures are now hanging in the corridor - to the left and to the right of the mirror... ;o)

Live Simply and Live Humbly

Es ist wirklich schön, dass Wochenende ist - und diesmal auch ein verlängertes! :o) So hat man genügend Zeit zum Sticken; und das hat man ja selten genug! ;o)
It is so nice that it is weekend - and this time we have a three day weekend (here in Germany)! :o) So one have enough time for stitching; and that occurs very rarely! ;o)

"Live Simply" ist nun fertig... und da ich gern Dinge auch zu Ende bringe, ist es - zusammen mit "Live Humbly" - auch schon gerahmt.
"Live Simply" is finished now... und because I like to complete things that I began, it is framed already - together with "Live Humbly".

Ich weiß nicht, wie es bei Euch ist, aber das Passepartout eines Bilderrahmens passt selten zu dem Gestickten (bei mir ist es jedenfalls meist so); deshalb habe ich mir selbst welche gebastelt... ;o)

I don't know how it is with you, but the passepartout of a frame does go seldom if ever with the stitched motive (this is the case with me most of the time); that's why I made myself the passepartouts... ;o)

Wichtel von Biscornu-Aktion erhalten / Exchange from Biscornu Stitching Exchange received

Well... I told you that I had the intention to stitch "Live Simply" (by Stone and Thread) as well... And here is already the beginning....: ;o)

Live Humbly

Das war aber ein schön schnelles Stickvergnügen... ;o) "Live Humbly" ist fertig!

This was such a quick stitching pleasure... ;o) "Live Humbly" is finished!

Jetzt fehlt nur noch das Pendant dazu - "Live Simply"! :o)

Now I only need to stitch the counterpart to it - "Live Simply"! :o)

Etwas Neues angefangen / Started with something new

Nach einem Tag Stickpause habe ich mir jetzt ein neues Projekt (etwas mit "Haus" ;o) ) gesucht: "Live Humbly" von Stone and Thread... Es ist etwas kleiner als das, was ich davor gestickt habe... ;o)

After a stitching-free day I found a new project (something with "house" ;o) ): "Live Humbly" by Stone and Thread... It is a little bit smaller than the one I stitched before... ;o)

Austen's House - 5 und fertig! / and Finish!

Ich weiß nicht, wie das Wetter bei Euch gestern war, aber ich konnte mich nachmittags auf den Balkon (verglast natürlich) in die Sonne setzen und sticken... :o)

I don't know what the weather was like where you live, but yesterday afternoon I could sit on my balcony (closed with windows) in the sun and stitch... :o)

Und darum ist auch mein Austen-Haus fertig!!!

Was den Zaun betrifft: den habe ich auf einer Seite der Latten mit hellerem Garn bestickt, aber es macht nicht einen so großen Unterschied zu vorher... Da bin ich derselben Meinung wie Sabine - ich habe keine großes Verlangen nach Fröscheln... ;o)
Regarding the fence: I stitched with a lighter thread on one side of the slats, but that is much of a difference in comparison to before... I think the same like Sabine - I have no large desire for frogging... ;o)

Ich glaube, dass ich mit dem Zaun noch irgendetwas machen muss; er sticht so wenig von der Steinwand ab... :o/ Habe wohl eine etwas zu dunkles Garn für den Zaun genommen, oder aber ein zu dunkles für die Backsteinwand...
I think I have to do some changes to the fence; it doesn't stand out against the stone wall as it should... :o/ I chose the thread for the fence a little bit too dark, or a too dark thread for the brick wall...

Kleiner Scherenfinder / Little scissors fob

Gestern hatte ich ein kleines Päckchen im Briefkasten (naja, es war eher so, dass ich es bei der Post abholen musste... ;o) ) - Lori von Notforgottenfarm hat einige wirklich schöne Scherenfinder bei Etsy angeboten (und bietet sie noch immer an), und dieser hat es mir einfach angetan:

Ich war gestern wieder etwas fleißig - so sieht Jane Austens Haus zur Zeit aus:

Wie ich im Post vorher schon geschrieben habe, ist das Sticken dieses Hauses doch umfangreicher als ich dachte... Trotzdem "kämpfe" ich mich durch ;o), und hier ist nun mein gegenwärtiger Stand:

As I already wrote in the post before, stitching this house takes up more time and is more extensive than I thought... Nevertheless, I "battle my way through it" ;o), and here now is my current status:

Ich wurde gefragt, welches Garn ich für das Bild nutze; ich benutze Anchor, und zwar für das Rot der Backsteine 5975 und 340, für das Grün des Grases und der Bäume 262, für den Zaun und die Baumstämme 375 und für die Fenster ein Fastschwarz - 1041...
I was asked what threads I am using; I am using Anchor, namely 5975 and 340 for the red of the bricks, 262 for the green of the grass and the trees, 375 for the fence and the tree-trunks und for the windows an "almost black" - 1041...

Übrigens: ich werde nur das Haus mit Bäumen sticken - die Schrift und die Girlande um das Haus herum nicht. Denn ich beabsichtige, mir einige Häuser zu sticken, die ich dann gerahmt an einer Wand zusammen aufhängen kann. Hier habe ich schon das erste Haus gestickt... ;o)
By the way: I will only stitch the house with trees - the letters and the garland around the house not. Because I itend to stitch some houses, which I then will frame and put together on a wall. Here is already my first house... ;o)

Neues WIP / New WIP

Anfang der Woche habe ich mit einem Projekt begonnen, das sich als doch langwieriger herausstellt, als ich dachte: Austen's House von Gazette94.

At the start of the week I started a project, which turns out as more extensive and lengthy than I thought: Austen's House by Gazette94.

Da ich ein großer Jane Austen-Fan bin und gerade auch eine Vorliebe fürs Häusersticken habe, kam mir dieses Haus gerade recht... ;o)

Because I am a great Jane Austen admirer and at present have a great fancy for stitching houses, too, this house came just in time... ;o)

Die Schere rechts unten ist soll wohl auch zum Sticken im Flugzeug geeignet sein - das werde ich in einem halben Jahr mal ausprobieren... ;o)

The scissors to the right below is said to be permitted in an aircraft - I will test this assertion within half a year... ;o)

Da ich gefragt wurde, woher ich denn die verschiedenen Scheren habe, hier meine Quellen: die neuesten Scheren habe ich von The Nordic Needle und von Anitas Little Stitches... Da gibt es Scheren aller Preisklassen... Für einige muss man schon einige Monate sparen... :o/
Because there were some people who asked me where I got the different scissors from, here are my sources: the most recent scissors I bought are from The Nordic Needle and from Anitas Little Stitches... There you can find scissors of every price range... And for some of these scissors, you have to save money several months... :o/

Bienen / Bees

Einer lieben Arbeits-Kollegin habe ich schon seit Ewigkeiten (= einigen Monaten) versprochen, ihr für ihr Handy eine kleine Tasche zu sticken - mit aufgestickten Bienen... Am letzten Wochenende habe ich es dann endlich geschafft. :o)

Some months ago, I promised a work-mate of mine to stitch her a little purse for her mobile phone - with stitched bees... And last weekend, I finally managed to stitch and finish it. :o)
